Cannot set up G Suite apps on device enrolled in Knox Manage

Overview

On a device enrolled in Knox Manage (KM), you may encounter an issue where G Suite apps (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.) are stuck on the sync screen after adding a Google G Suite account.

Resolution

Disable Advanced management capabilities in G Suite console. To do this:

  1. In your G Suite console, navigate to Admin page > Device management > Setup.
  2. Depending on your deployment, either configure the Enable Mobile Management option to Basic or disable it.

You can then use G Suite applications and enforce basic G Suite policies.
