Overview

With British Columbia’s recent adoption of permanent year-round daylight saving time (Pacific Time (PCT), UTC-7), starting on November 1st, 2026, clocks no longer fall back to UTC-8. To ensure devices in your organization reflect this change and remain accurate, we recommend you set the value of the Set Automatic time zone policy to True in your Knox Service Plugin configuration.

If you’re using Knox Manage as your EMM solution:

  1. Navigate to your Knox Manage console.

  2. Click on the profile name you want to modify, then edit it.

  3. Navigate to your Knox Service Plugin configuration.

  4. Configure the following Device-wide policies:

    Policy Value
    Enable device policy controls True
Date Time Change > Enable Date Time Policy controls True
Date Time Change > Set Automatic time zone True
  5. Save and push the profile to your device fleet.

To use Knox Service Plugin, ensure you have either:

  • A valid Knox Manage license with the KLM09 prefix and a Knox Platform for Enterprise license.
  • A valid Knox Suite license with the KLM12 prefix.

By applying these policies, devices automatically detect and adjust to the correct time zone, enabling compliance with British Columbia’s new time zone regulations.
