How to use Knox Browser in kiosk mode

Overview

This article provides steps you can follow in the Knox Manage console to enable Knox Browser for a device in kiosk mode. Before you begin, you must register a Knox Suite - Enterprise Plan or Knox Suite - Essentials Plan license in your Knox Manage console.

As of Knox Manage 24.09, Knox Browser is available to all tenants as a Utility component in the kiosk settings. To use Knox Browser in a Multi App Kiosk or Single App Kiosk, you must first add and then activate the app.

Add the Knox Browser app

In the Knox Manage console, you can add the Knox Browser app to a Multi App Kiosk or Single App Kiosk.

Add Knox Browser to a Multi App Kiosk

To add the Knox Browser app to a Multi App Kiosk:

1. In the Knox Manage console, go to Kiosk.
2. Select your desired kiosk, then click Modify.
3. Under the Component drop down menu, click and drag the Knox Browser icon to the kiosk preview.
4. Once your kiosk is configured, click Save > OK to confirm your changes.

Add Knox Browser to a Single App Kiosk

Alternatively, to add the Knox Browser app to a Single App Kiosk:

1. In the Knox Manage console, go to Kiosk.
2. Select your desired kiosk, then click Modify.
3. At the bottom of the Modify Kiosk page, click Add System Application.
4. On the Add System App dialogue that opens:
   • Select your platform.
   • In the Package Name field, add com.sds.emm.kmsecurebrowser.
   • In the Application Name field, add Knox Browser.
   • Click Save.
5. On the Modify Kiosk page, Under the Component drop down menu, click and drag the Knox Browser package to the kiosk Preview.
6. Once your kiosk is configured, click Save > OK to confirm your changes.

Activate the Knox Browser app

Next, to activate Knox Browser in your Android Enterprise profile:

1. In the Knox Manage console, go to Profile.

2. Select your profile and click Modify Policy.

3. Under the Android Enterprise policy drawer, click Knox Browser.

4. Set the following required policies for Knox Browser:

   Policy	Value
   Knox Browser App	Use
   Homepage URL	Enter a valid homepage. Example: https://www.samsungknox.com

5. (Optional) Set any additional policies you’d like for your Knox Browser.

6. Click Save & Assign to save your changes and assign the profile to your device fleet.
