Overview

When you try to enroll a device with a userless enrollment token, you may encounter an issue where the following error message displays on the device:

Google Authentication Failed (Error code: KMA_A1014)

An unexpected error occurred while setting up the environment for Google authentication. Please contact your administrator.

Cause

This error occurs when the device’s Google Play Store can’t update to the required version during Knox Manage enrollment. As such, Android’s device management policy can’t be installed, resulting in an authentication failure.

Resolution

The Knox Manage team is aware of the issue, and is currently working on a fix.

Workaround

When the error message displays, tap OK, then tap Open Knox Manage on the Knox Manage agent loading screen. The enrollment should proceed normally.
