Unable to replace a license on devices

You might encounter an issue where you’re unable to replace a license because the Replace license action is disabled on the console, even though you have configured devices that are currently consuming the license.


The Knox Configure team has identified an issue where the license replacement logic only checks if there are assigned devices, instead of devices that are both assigned and activated. If a license is used by configured devices but none are in the assigned state before configuration, the license can’t be replaced.

The team is working on a fix.


To restore the action, assign at least one device to the license but leave it unconfigured.

Alternatively, you can switch the configured devices to a different license.
