About Accessory profile enrollment

Last updated April 24th, 2024

Once an accessory profile is set up, device users can use the accessory to enroll a device, according to the following steps:

Step 1

An accessory ID is generated while creating an accessory profile to link an accessory to a device running Android 13 or higher using NFC. The device user connects the mobile accessory by pairing the device with the NFC case, the NFC card, or the Galaxy Buds case by holding them to the back of the device.

Step 2

If the device is running Android 13 or higher, the cover display wallpaper and custom animations you added to the accessory profile are displayed on the device.

Step 3

On the device, the Welcome screen displays the permitted quantity of devices.

Step 4

This step occurs only if you select Add additional Terms and Conditions and/or Privacy Policy, and is skipped if you don’t.

The device user reviews the End User License Agreement and taps Continue to proceed or Cancel to end enrollment.

Step 5

Finally, the client app downloads all the configured profile assets such as the custom booting and shutdown animations, Home screen wallpaper, Galaxy theme, shortcuts and so on.

Accessory profiles don’t support QR code enrollment.
