Overview

Knox Guard’s SIM control has 2 main features:

  • Mobile Country Code/Mobile Network Code (MCC/MNC) lock
  • Mobile number lock

On single-SIM supported devices, the device can be locked with MCC/MNC or a mobile number lock. However, this process is different for dual-SIM supported devices. This article provides guidance on how to lock dual-SIM devices.

SIM control with MCC/MNC lock

The following behavior occurs when an MCC/MNC lock is used for dual-SIM supported devices:

Lock conditions Lock behavior
MCC/MNC lock applied to both SIM 1 and SIM 2 Device locks if either SIM is removed
MCC/MNC lock applied to SIM 1, but not SIM 2 SIM 2 works as long as SIM 1 is in the device
MCC/MNC lock applied to SIM 2, but not SIM 1 SIM 1 works as long as SIM 2 is in the device

SIM control with mobile number lock

When using the mobile number lock with dual-SIM supported devices, as long as SIM 1 remains inserted in the device, SIM 2 works and the device remains unlocked.
