Enhancements to device enrollment screens
With Knox Configure 24.09, the device enrollment screens for Knox Configure Setup or Dynamic editions are now streamlined to make it easier for device users to view your company details, access support contact information, and review and accept your policies and agreements.
Additional screen timeout option of 30 minutes
Previously, the maximum timeout period in a Setup or Dynamic edition profile was 10 minutes. The Knox Configure 24.09 release lets you configure your the timeout period to 30 minutes for all AMOLED devices running Knox 3.4 or higher. For non-AMOLED devices running Knox version 3.4 or higher, the maximum timeout limit will still be 10 minutes.
Screen timeout is not supported on devices running Knox version 3.3 or lower.
Additional app permissions
Previously, when you configured the app permissions in either a Setup or Dynamic edition profile, you were limited to the following options for each profile type:
Setup edition profile:
- Application can appear on top
Dynamic edition profile:
- Application can appear on top
- Usage data access
- Change system settings
Starting with Knox Configure 24.09, two new app permissions are added, and now both Setup and Dynamic edition profiles have access to all available app permissions.
The following permission types are available in this release:
- Application can appear on top
- Usage data access
- Change system settings
- All files access (new in 24.09)
- Alarms & reminders (new in 24.09)
Addition of last seen date on device page
Knox Configure 24.09 provides a new LAST SEEN column on the Devices page that shows the last time a device connected to the server. You can sort this new column in ascending and descending order, and can add or remove it in the CUSTOMIZE TABLE options on the page.
Ability to select theme time and date color
With Knox Configure 24.09, you can now customize the Time/Date widget font color on a device’s lock screen and cover screen (on Galaxy Z Flip 5 and newer devices).
Updates
Auto-generation of Knox Configure Setup edition trial license keys for new customers
Previously, if you were a new customer who just signed up for Knox Configure, you had to manually generate either a Setup or Dynamic edition trial license from the Licenses page. Starting with Knox Configure 24.09, a Setup edition trial license is created for you automatically.
Starting September 17, 2024, in the UAT environment, a Knox Configure Setup Edition license key will automatically be added to your account when you’re approved for the Knox Configure service.
Deprecations
Removal of TIF and BMP image formats.
Knox Configure 24.09 removes support for TIF, TIFF, and BMP image formats in the profile’s wallpaper, lock screen, and cover screen theme settings.
Removal of Adaptive brightness settings
Previously, you could prevent a user from changing their Adaptive brightness settings on their device, or hide the setting altogether. With Knox Configure 24.09, this option is no longer available, and users will always have the ability to change their adaptive brightness settings on their device.
