Configure privacy display settings

You can now control privacy display settings with Knox Service Plugin. Privacy display helps protect on-screen content from being viewed by others nearby.

With Knox Service Plugin’s privacy display policies, you can:

  • Enable or disable privacy display, and prevent device users from changing this setting.
  • Specify app package names to apply privacy display to specific apps, and prevent device users from changing the app list.
  • Enable privacy display when the device user enters a PIN, pattern, or password, and prevent device users from changing this setting.

For company-owned devices, configure this policy at Device-wide policies > Advanced Restriction policies > Privacy Display operation.

For personal devices with a work profile, configure this policy at Work profile policies > Advanced Restriction policies > Privacy Display operation.

This feature is only supported on Galaxy S26 Ultra devices running Android 16 (One UI 8.5) with Knox 3.13 or higher. Additionally, devices must have updated to at least the first maintenance release of One UI 8.5 to use this feature.

Set automatic timezone

You can now configure the Automatic timezone setting with Knox Service Plugin. This allows you to ensure devices use the correct timezone based on network information, which is useful for apps that depend on accurate time settings.

Configure this policy at Device-wide policies > Date Time Change > Set Automatic time zone.

This feature requires Knox 3.10 or higher and Android 14 or higher.

Control private DNS settings

You can now configure Private DNS settings with Knox Service Plugin. This is useful for secured environments where default DNS connections may be blocked.

You can set the following values for Private DNS:

  • off — Use the network’s default DNS servers.
  • Automatic — Use recommended secure DNS servers if they’re available.
  • <dns-hostname> — Enter the hostname of your private DNS provider.

This feature requires Knox 3.11 or higher and Android 15 or higher.

Configure this policy at Device-wide policies > Device and Settings customization profile (Premium) > Configure values in settings menu.

Configure lock screen notification style

With this release, the lock screen notification style policy has been renamed to Notifications > Lock screen > Notification style (old Lock Screen > Notifications > View style). This policy allows you to set how notifications appear on the lock screen, and is supported on devices running Knox 3.7 and higher.

On devices running Knox 3.11 and higher, the supported values are:

  • 0 — Cards
  • 1 — Icons
  • 2 — Dot

For Knox 3.7 through 3.10, the supported values are:

  • 0 — Details
  • 1 — Icons only

Configure this policy at Device-wide policies > Device and Settings customization profile (Premium) > Configure values in settings menu.
