Date Time Change

Last updated November 11th, 2024

With Knox Service Plugin, you can configure polices that control device date and time.

First, you must enable Date Time policy controls before you can configure these policies.

  1. On your EMM console, add an assignment for the Knox Service Plugin app intended for your target devices, or edit it if one already exists.

  2. On the Knox Service Plugin managed configuration, set the following:

    Setting Value
Device-wide policies > Enable device policy controls True
Device-wide policies > Date Time Change > Enable Date Time Policy controls True

After you’ve enabled these settings, you can configure the policies below.

Date Time Change policies

  • Allow Date Time change — Determine whether device users can change the date and time.

  • Set NTP server info — Configure devices to use a local NTP server for setting date and time.

Setting local NTP server information is only supported on devices running Android 14 (Knox 3.10) and higher.

Enter the following server connection information:

    • Server URL — Enter the URL for your local NTP server.
    • Timeout — Server connection timeout in seconds.
    • Max. no. of attempts to reach server — Number of times the device will retry connecting to the NTP server after a failed connection attempt.
    • Poll interval for server — The interval in seconds between each time the device checks the local NTP server for the current date and time.
    • Retry interval after failure — The interval in seconds between each time the device retries connecting to the NTP server after a failed connection attempt.
