Omnissa Workspace ONE — Android Enterprise work profile notifications disabled on Galaxy Watch by default
Last updated May 13th, 2025
Categories:
Environment
- Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM
- Android Enterprise work profile
- Custom device policy controller (DPC)
- Samsung Galaxy Watch5, Watch6, and Watch7 devices
Overview
When using a device managed with Omnissa Workspace ONE UEM, you may notice that your connected Samsung Galaxy Watch no longer receives or displays notifications from apps in the Custom DPC managed work profile.
Cause
Starting with Intelligent Hub 24.11, Omnissa introduced two changes to the default security policy to limit unintended access to work notifications by non-system apps.
Non-system apps refer to any application that was not preinstalled on the device.
The following changes were introduced:
- By default, anytime a Restrictions profile is installed on a Custom DPC device, non-system apps are blocked from accessing work notifications.
- An administrator can allow specific applications in the personal profile to access work notifications.
Resolution
To grant access to work profile app notifications for Galaxy Watches, add the following packages to the allowlist:
Galaxy Watch Model | PackageID that must be allowlisted |
---|---|
Galaxy Watch5 | com.samsung.android.heartplugin |
Galaxy Watch6 | com.samsung.wearable.watch6plugin |
Galaxy Watch7 | com.samsung.wearable.watch7plugin |
For more information, see Omnissa’s documentation.
