New features

Knox Capture v1.9.1 introduces the following new features:

Automatic UPCE to UPCA barcode conversion

Knox Capture v1.9.1 lets customers scan UPCE barcodes and then automatically convert that data into UPCA format for use in their business apps. To learn more about this feature, see Extended barcode type settings

Enhancements

This release introduces the following feature enhancements:

Improvements to continuous single scan mode for Knox Capture: Scandit Edition customers

For Knox Capture: Scandit Edition customers only, this release improves the continuous single scan mode behavior. Previously, if users scanned two different barcode symbologies with identical barcode values (while using continuous single scan mode), the second barcode would be skipped. This release ensures that barcodes of different symbologies are scanned, even if the data is the same.

As of March 2026, Knox Capture Scandit Edition has officially reached end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS). See our Scandit Edition retirement announcement blog post to learn more about this decision.

Improvements to custom validation

Customers who use single scan mode (non-continuous) and configure the Custom validation feature on the Scan engine settings page will now see a red overlay when scanning an invalid barcode. Previously, if an invalid barcode was scanned, the camera preview window would close without informing the user that their barcode was invalid.

Updates to the Scandit library

Knox Capture v1.9.1 includes a new version of the Scandit library, version 6.19. This new version improves overall performance when multiple barcode symbologies are enabled.

As of March 2026, Knox Capture Scandit Edition has officially reached end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS). See our Scandit Edition retirement announcement blog post to learn more about this decision.
