One-handed scanning using XCover key
You can now initiate and complete barcode scans by simply pressing XCover key on rugged devices — no need to tap the on-screen Scan button.
This feature is supported in both the default scanner and the Scanner overlay when using the Aim and scan selection type within Single scan mode. This simplifies the scanning workflow, enabling one-handed scanning.
Configure scanning app for Code 39 - Full ASCII barcode symbology
You can now configure your scanning app to interpret Code 39 Extended, which provides support for Full ASCII barcode symbology. This expands the standard 43-character Code 39 set into the full 128-character ASCII set, which includes lowercase letters, special symbols, and control characters.
You can toggle Full ASCII support in Extended barcode type settings to enable this feature, by default it is Off.
Control GS1 parser through intent
Previously, your scanning app relied only on Knox Capture app to set GS1 parsing On or Off.
Now, you can enable or disable the GS1 parsing option for your scanning app through intent-based soft triggers. You can do this by using a new field parse_gs1 in the soft-trigger intent. This lets you to dynamically control GS1 parsing based on your specific scanning needs.
See Start scan from business app to learn more about this in developer workflow.
Knox Capture SDK v1.5.0
Knox Capture SDK v1.5.0 also introduces Full ASCII support for Code39 barcode. To learn more, see our latest SDK release notes.
