Knox Cloud Authentication is our legacy authentication scheme. We recommend using Knox OAuth 2.0 Authentication for new integrations. Third-party portal providers who are integrating with Knox APIs on behalf of their customers must use Knox OAuth 2.0 Authentication.
To get started with Knox cloud services APIs, you need to generate an access token through Knox Cloud Authentication. The process to do this depends on who you are, and your purpose for integrating with Knox cloud services.
For customers
As a customer, you’re authorized to access your own Knox cloud services resources. Follow the authentication guide for customers to see how you can generate an access token.
For MSPs
As an MSP, your managed customer has already authorized you to access their Knox cloud services resources through the Knox MSP program. Follow the authentication guide for MSPs to see how you can generate an access token.
