Get a license

You can generate a license yourself for free products from the Knox developer portal. Or you can buy Knox licenses from Knox license resellers for paid products.

Generate license

To get a license yourself, you can either generate one or register one.

Generate your license

To generate a license key:

  1. Sign in to the Knox Developer portal.

  2. In the navigation pane, select My license keys > Add License Key > Get a license key.

Add license key

  1. Select the type of license key you want.

    • Development Key — If you’re testing your app.

    • Commercial Key — If you’re ready to deploy your app.

    • Backwards Compatible Key — If the app you’re deploying is for Android devices running on Knox 2.7 or earlier, or for any Tizen device. Or if your license is legacy KPE Premium (KLM03, KLM06).

    • VENDOR_UNIQUE ATTESTATION KEY — If you’re using the Knox Attestation REST APIs.

Register a license

To register a license key from a Knox license reseller:

  1. Sign in to the Knox Developer portal.

  2. In the navigation pane, select My license keys > Add License Key > Register a license key from reseller.

Add license key

  1. Put your key in the License Key text box.

  2. Name your license key. This is to differentiate between the multiple license keys that you may generate. You must enter a name before the Get License Key button becomes available.

  3. Associate an app package, either an Android APK or Tizen TPK package, with your key. This is for security purposes. Only this app will be able to activate this license key. We don’t store the app package. We only extract info about it.

    • Select the check box to verify that you are authorized to identify the app that uses the license key.
    • Select Extract Package.
    • Find the app package (APK for Android, TPK for Tizen) and select Open.
  4. Select Get License Key.
