RESELLER_DEVICE_INVALID appears when uploading device in Knox Deployment Program

Environment

• Knox Deployment Program (KDP)
• Knox Cloud Services (KCS)

Overview

When a reseller uploads a device manufactured before 2016, the following error occurs:

RESELLER_DEVICE_INVALID

This device is not manufactured by Samsung. Please check carefully. (MPTS rejected)

Cause

Devices older than 2016 are missing from the server that checks for Samsung-manufactured devices.

Resolution

The Knox team is currently working on a fix.

Workaround

A manual fix must be applied for any affected devices in the database.
