Knox SDK frequently asked questions — Workspace
The unified container provides immediate support for Android’s COMP mode.
Android apps don’t need a Knox license for use within a unified container. EMM agents that use Knox to manage a device do need a Knox license per the following conditions:
- EMM agents installed as DOs can either activate an ELM license to call a basic set of Knox APIs or they can activate a KLM license to call the full library of Knox APIs.
- EMM agents installed as PO must activate both ELM and KLM licenses in order to call Knox APIs.
Samsung devices running Android O support the harmonized container. Currently, flagship Samsung devices, such as the S8, are targeted to receive Android O. Eventually, S7 devices may also get Android O.
