New

Adoption of Samsung account for Business for new MSP admins

Previously, personal Samsung accounts were used to create a Knox partner account. Now, when you sign up as a partner, the workflow guides you to use Samsung account for Business, an identity and access management (IAM) platform designed for enterprises.

With your new Knox account linked to Samsung account for Business, you can:

  • Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of your account, including adding and managing admins, company domains, and authentication methods.
  • Simplify sign in and authentication of users accessing Knox cloud services by linking your company’s identity provider with Samsung account for Business.
  • With the new Company account settings permissions, view and manage company and user information synchronized between the Samsung account for Business console and the Knox Admin Portal.
  • Invited admins are now guided to the new workflow when activating their accounts.

If you already have a Knox account linked to a personal Samsung account, there is no change to your sign-in flow. Any admins you invite are guided to the existing activation workflow.

Additionally, if you signed up for a Knox partner account using Samsung account for Business, you will now have to set an Account ID when inviting new sub-admins to your Knox MSP Portal. See Manage admins to learn more about this updated workflow.

If you were already signed up as a Knox MSP admin using a personal Samsung account prior to the 25.11 release, the Set account ID field is not required when inviting new sub-admins to the Knox MSP Portal.

Adoption of Samsung account for Business for new jointly-managed customers

When adding new jointly-managed customers to your Knox MSP Portal, or transitioning fully-managed customer to a jointly-managed status after the 25.11 release, your customers will be required to sign up for Samsung account for Business before they can register for Knox services.

Ability to resend email invitations for jointly-managed customers

A new Resend email invite button (available in the customer details panel) lets you remind jointly-managed customers, and fully-managed customers who transition to jointly-managed status, to complete the sign up process. This button remains active until the customer creates their account and accepts the MSP invitation.

Additionally, if the customer was invited after the 25.11 release, they will receive a registration link that expires after 7 days in their email. This expiration date was introduced to enhance security and reduce unauthorized access. See Manage customers to learn more.

Update

Changes to Roles permission structure

To align with global device and reseller management changes in Knox cloud services, and to provide you with better control when defining roles for your MSP sub-admins, several updates were made to the Knox MSP Portal’s Roles permission structure.

You can now manage reseller preferences for devices and approve devices in the Devices > Manage devices permissions group, and register resellers in the Resellers > Manage resellers permissions group. To learn more about the changes see Manage Roles.
