Manual Proxy configuration policies aren’t applied

Overview

If you’re using Manual Proxy configuration policies on your device but haven’t configured your Firewall and Proxy policy’s control flags, you may encounter the following error:

Fatal error occurred. Mandatory field doFirewallsControlled is missing. Please check your input configuration and try again.

Cause

This error occurs when Use manual Proxy configuration is enabled but the Enable firewall controls flag isn’t configured. Knox Service Plugin requires the firewall controls to be enabled before manual proxy configuration policies can be applied to a device.

Resolution

To resolve this issue and enable Manual Proxy configuration policies:

1. On your EMM console, navigate to your Knox Service Plugin configuration.

2. Under Device-wide policies > Firewall and Proxy policy, configure the following:

   Policy	Value
   Enable firewall controls	True
   Enable Proxy on device	Use manual Proxy configuration

3. Under Manual Proxy configuration, enter your proxy information.

4. Save the profile and apply the changes to your devices.
