Wi-Fi password visible in device settings

Overview

The Knox Service Plugin’s Allow Control for Wi-Fi Password to be Visible policy allows device users to view the Wi-Fi password while connecting to a new network.

When the policy is set to False, the Wi-Fi password should be hidden. However, some device users encountered an issue where the password was still visible for networks they previously connected to, even when the policy was set to False.

Cause

Starting with One UI 6.0, device users were able to view the password of a previously connected network regardless of the policy value. The policy false value only restricted users from viewing the password while connecting to a new network.

Resolution

For devices running OneUI 6.1.1 and higher, the Allow Control for Wi-Fi Password to be Visible policy was updated. Now, if this policy is set to False, the password is hidden regardless of whether they connect to a new or existing network.

To resolve the issue, update the affected devices to this latest version of OneUI. If the problem persists, submit a support ticket.
