Overview

Easy setup is the process where account information is transferred from an existing device to a new device during initial setup.

Easy setup is available for personal devices running Android 13 and higher. If a personal device is enrolled with a QR code or with Knox Deployment App, Easy setup isn’t available, because these methods are exclusive to B2B customers.

By default, Easy setup is available for B2C devices that are powered on for the first time. When a user begins enrolling in their out-of-box experience, Easy setup is available, since the device has isn’t registered for B2B usage. After performing a factory reset on a device that was enrolled in an EMM, the device remains recognized as a B2B device, and Easy setup isn’t available in subsequent setups.
