Manage groups

A group can be comprised of users or devices. To view and manage your groups, navigate to the Groups page.

Here, you can view all of your groups, sort them by name, and filter them by group type. You can also select groups and click the ACTIONS dropdown to perform actions on those groups, such as assign apps and profiles, edit groups, duplicate groups, and delete groups.

Create a new group

First, you must create groups before you can assign users to them:

  1. Go to Groups.

  2. Click CREATE GROUP.

  3. Enter the Group name of your new group.

  4. Choose if your group holds users or devices.

  5. Select one or more users or devices to add to the new group.

  6. Finally, click CREATE.

Add users to an existing user group

There are two ways to add users to an existing user group:

  1. Go to Users.

  2. Select one or more users to add to the group.

  3. Click ACTIONS > Add to group to open the Add to group page.

  4. Select the group to add users to.

  5. Finally, click ADD TO GROUP.

  1. Go to Groups.

  2. Select the group to add users to.

    To add users, you can only select one group at a time.

  3. Click ACTIONS > Edit group to open the Edit group page.

  4. Select one or more users to add to the group.

  5. Finally, click SAVE.

Add user groups from a directory

You can add a group from active directories or identity providers connected to Knox Manage.

  1. Go to Groups.
  2. Click the ACTIONS dropdown.
  3. Select Add group from directory.
  4. On the top left dropdown, choose which directory to get groups from. Then, select a group from that directory to add to Knox Manage.
  5. Click ADD USERS.

Duplicate a group

When you duplicate a group, you can choose which configurations to copy to the new group.

To duplicate a group:

  1. Go to Groups.

  2. Click ACTIONS > Duplicate group

Edit apps assigned to a group

Once you have assigned apps to a group, you can edit multiple assigned apps. Click the corresponding link under the ASSIGNED APPS column, selecting the intended apps, then click Edit app settings and proceed to make changes as required.

Delete a group

When you delete a group, any assigned apps or profiles are removed from the users’ devices, but the users themselves remain active.

To delete a group:

  1. Go to Groups.
  2. Select one or more groups to delete.
  3. Click ACTIONS > Delete group(s).

You can also delete groups by clicking the group name to open the side panel, and click on the ellipsis on the bottom right > Delete group.
