Run App command not visible for multiple devices

Overview

When selecting multiple devices to launch Google Play apps, you may encounter an issue where the Run App device command is not visible.

Cause

Based on the number of devices selected, the Run App command uses two different APIs which each accept different parameters. Google Play apps are only compatible with the Run App device command for a single device selection. If you attempt to use the Run App command with multiple devices selected, Google Play apps aren’t visible in the list of apps.

Workaround

When launching apps with Knox Manage, ensure the selected number of devices correspond with the app type. The following table shows the apps compatible with the Run App device command:

Device selection Compatible apps
Single device All apps installed on the device
Multiple devices Internal apps, kiosk apps, and system apps (not Google Play apps)
