Overview

With Knox Manage, you can add the Samsung Camera app to a multi-app kiosk device.

After you enable the Samsung Camera app, the device user will be able to take photos, but won’t be able to view them after the fact because the Samsung Gallery app is also unavailable by default. Therefore, if photo viewing is a requirement, you should consider also adding the Samsung Gallery app to the kiosk.

How to add the Samsung Camera app to a multi-app kiosk

First, add the Samsung Camera app to the kiosk:

  1. On the Knox Manage console, go to Kiosk.

  2. Select the configuration of your multi-app kiosk, then click Modify to edit it.

  3. Click Add System Application, then define the Samsung Camera app in the resulting dialog:

    Field Value
    Package Name com.sec.android.app.camera
    Application Name Samsung Camera
  4. Click Save to add the app and return to the kiosk configuration.

To add the Samsung Gallery app (optional):

  1. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

  2. Follow step 3 with the following details:

    Field Value
    Package Name com.sec.android.gallery3d
    Application Name Samsung Gallery
  3. Click Save to add the app and return to the kiosk configuration.

Next, add the app to the allowlist:

  1. On the kiosk configuration, click Select next to Allowlisted Apps Settings. A list of available apps opens.

  2. Search for and select Samsung Camera, then click OK to add the app to the kiosk’s allowlist.

    • If the Samsung Gallery app was added, select Samsung Gallery as well.
  3. Save and confirm your configuration.

  4. Back on the Kiosk page, re-select the kiosk configuration, then click Apply. The updated configuration is redeployed to all kiosks that use it.
