How to Control Applications download within Personal Profile

Overview

When you configure devices to have a Work Profile, you might want to control the apps that can be downloaded by the user on the device’s Personal Profile. This article will guide you in specifying what apps can or cannot be downloaded in the Personal Profile with the Google Play Store.

How to configure and control app downloads within the Personal Profile?

  1. In the Knox Manage console, click Profile.

  2. Select your profile, then click Modify Policy.

  3. Under the Android Enterprise policy drawer, modify the following policies for the App Restrictions policy group for one of the following options:

    Option 1: Blocklist Setting (Specify the apps to prohibit from downloading)

    Modify the following polices:

    Policy Value
    App Download Block/Allowlist Blocklist Setting
    App Download Block/Allowlist > App Download Blocklist Add or Add All the apps you want to prohibit from downloading

    Option 2: Allowlist Setting (Specify the apps to allow downloading)

    Modify the following polices:

    Policy Value
    App Download Block/Allowlist Allowlist Setting
    App Download Block/Allowlist > App Download Allowlist Add or Add All the apps you want to allow downloading
  4. Click Save & Assign > OK.

  5. Confirm your profile version update and click OK to confirm and push the changes to your device fleet.
