Overview

This article guides you on how to add contacts as VCF files to BYOD devices in Knox Manage. Add contacts to your fleet so device users can access a standard set of contacts while performing business tasks.

Add contact data to devices

To add contacts to your devices:

  1. In a mail app or another contact management solution, export each contact to individual VCF files or create a single consolidated VCF file.
  2. On Knox Manage console, deploy the VCF file(s) as content to your devices. For more detailed instructions on how to manage content, see add content, assign content, and distribute content.

How to create a VCF file

You can create a .vcf file by selecting all contacts on a device and using the share function. Then, distribute the .vcf file through Knox Manage Contents.

Import contacts on the device

After you add contacts to devices in your fleet, device users must import the VCF files from the Content directory in their local storage and add them to the Contacts app.

To import the distributed contacts into the work profile, instruct the device user to:

  1. In the Knox Manage agent, open the menu, then tap Content in the work profile to view all downloaded content.
  2. Tap a VCF file to import and save the contact data.

The device user can then tap Contacts in the work profile to access the imported contacts.
