Overview

When syncing Knox Manage with an on-premises Active Directory (AD) domain through Samsung Cloud Connector (SCC), you may want to know how your Knox Manage console is impacted when migrating users and groups to a new on-premises AD domain.

What is the impact of an Active Directory domain migration on Knox Manage?

After migrating your data to a new on-premises AD domain, SCC must be installed on the domain to connect a new sync service in Knox Manage.

If your users and groups are migrated without any changes, there will be no difference in your Knox Manage console and all previous data will be maintained. Device users won’t notice any impact.

However, any group created in AD will be created as a new group in Knox Manage. Additionally, some AD user attributes that aren’t stored in Knox Manage may change after the migration, such as the Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) or Distinguished Name (DN).
