Overview

With 10,000 or more uploaded devices on the Knox Guard console, you may encounter an issue when extracting the list of downloaded devices from the automatic emails sent to you. When trying to extract the file, the archive tool produces the following warning:

Unexpected end of data
Warnings:
There are some data after the end of the payload data

Other archive tools will produce different error messages.

The resulting CSV file is corrupt or incomplete.

Cause

When you export the complete list of your devices and it would contain 10,000 or more devices, the list is partitioned into multiple files with the following extension:

.csv.zip.part_number

Each part is sent in a separate email, with the total number of parts included in the email subject. If you attempt to extract without all files present, the warning will display, and the CSV file won’t contain the full device list.

If an extraction is initiated with any file other than the first part (the file ending with .csv.zip.001), then the extraction will fail completely.

Resolution

To extract the full device list:

  1. Download all files from the emails.
  2. Place all the files in the same folder.
  3. Extract the file with the extension .csv.zip.001.
