Manage firmware update control

To encourage users to update their device’s firmware to the latest version, you can send a customized update reminder to their device. You can set how often they’ll see this reminder.

Send a firmware update reminder

To send a firmware update reminder for select devices:

1. On the Devices page, select one or more devices.

2. Click ACTIONS > Manage policy > Manage firmware update control.

3. Enable Firmware update control.

4. Configure your Send update reminder settings:

   

   • Set a number of days before the device starts receiving update reminders. You can select between 7-30 days.

   • Enter a reminder Period to determine how long the message displays.

   • Enter a reminder Message.

5. Enter the Contact information that displays on the device. You must provide either a Phone number or E-mail address.

6. (Optional) Set limits for when update reminders can be shown to users:

   

   • You can define set hours every day during which update reminders won’t be shown.

   • Select Do not show during the selected time period to set a specific time period during which update reminders won’t be shown.

7. Click SAVE.
