Error 364 - Invalid Firmware version

Overview

When you’re using Knox E-FOTA on your devices, the campaign validates firmware compatibility before proceeding with updates. When the campaign attempts to verify the target firmware version, the validation may fail with the following error:

Error 364 - Invalid Firmware version

Cause

You may encounter this error because the Dialer app (com.samsung.android.dialer) is blocked. Knox E-FOTA requires access to the Dialer app to verify critical device identifiers such as IMEIs and Device IDs during firmware updates.

When EMMs block or restrict the Dialer app, Knox E-FOTA can’t access these device identifiers. As a result, Knox E-FOTA can’t validate that the target firmware is appropriate for the specific device, resulting in an Error 364.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ensure the Dialer app (com.samsung.android.dialer) isn’t included in your EMM’s blocklist or app restrictions. For more details, refer to your EMM’s documentation on managing system app permissions.

If the Dialer app is already enabled and accessible, but you continue to encounter an Error 364, submit a support ticket.
