Knox Configure 25.01 release notes

Last updated January 15th, 2025

New

Support for third-party app remote control

When adding apps to Setup or Dynamic edition profiles, you now have the option to grant permission for third-party developers to remotely control their apps in order to help troubleshoot customer issues. See Configure profile settings to learn more.

To use this feature, you must be granted permission by a Samsung Admin.

Ability to delete e-SIM after factory reset

You now have the option to delete a device’s e-SIM when performing a factory reset from the Knox Configure console’s Devices page. See Push device commands for more details.

This feature is only available for devices running Android 14 and higher.

Ability to lock device Home screen layout

When creating a Setup or Dynamic edition profile, you now have the option to lock the home screen layout, thus ensuring that users always have access to their enterprise apps on the first screen of their device. See Configure profile settings to learn more.

Updates

Privileged access to FRP bypass and factory reset

Previously, you could select the Skip Setup Wizard and enable FRP Bypass option in a Dynamic edition profile, and send a Factory reset command from the Devices page. Starting with this release, both these features are disabled by default. If you want to use these features, you must request access from a Samsung Admin, who will grant you access after an internal customer review and use-case verification.

Deprecations

Previously, when you set the Bixby key > Double-press key type option to either Quick launch camera or Open application, or when you entered a package name in the Application component name field, you could specify whether you wanted to allow users to change the setting on their device, or disable and hide these settings entirely.

With Knox Configure 25.01, the options to Allow, Do not allow, and Do not allow and hide settings from user options were removed in order to accommodate upcoming button setting changes in Android 15.

When selecting Double-press the Bixby key, or specifying the actions under Press and hold the Bixby key, you can still allow, disable, and hide these settings from the user.
