How to disable Google Voice Assistant with Knox Configure

Overview

The Google voice assistant is included in 2 applications:

  1. Google voice assistant
  2. Google quick search

To completely remove Google voice assistant from activating on your device, you will need to disable both packages. See below for the complete steps.

If the Google quick search is not disabled, the device user will be able use the Google voice assistant by long pressing the home button and activating the Google quick search.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to your KC console and select or create a new profile.
  2. On the Applications & content page, under Disable the usage of other applications, add the following packages:
    • com.google.android.apps.googleassistant
    • com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
