Manage business app credentials

Last updated October 28th, 2024

If your frontline workers use business apps that require sign-in before use, Knox Authentication Manager can help streamline the sign-in proccess by saving the (non-SSO enabled) business app credentials for every device user in your fleet.

When users sign into a business app for the first time, they are given the option to save their app credentials with Knox Authentication Manager. Once saved, the next time users sign in to a device and launch their business app, they are automatically signed in using their saved credentials.

Saving credentials

When you sign into your business app for the first time (after you sign into Knox Authentication Manager), you’ll be asked if you want to save your credentials for the credentials for the business app you’re signing into.

  1. If you select Save, then Knox Authentication Manager will remember your credentials and automatically sign you in the next time you launch the business app.
  2. If you select No thanks, then Knox Authentication Manager won’t remember your credentials and you’ll be asked to manually sign in each time you launch your business app.

Edit credentials

If you make changes to your business app credentials, you’ll want to update the credentials saved in Knox Authentication Manager. To do this:

  1. Go to the Knox Authentication Manager home screen, then tap menu, then Manage credentials.
  2. Select the business app you want to update, then tap Edit.
  3. Update the password saved in Knox Authentication Manager to match the new password in your business app, then tap Save.

Delete credentials

If you no longer wish to save your business app credentials, you can delete them from Knox Authentication Manager by doing the following:

  1. Go to the Knox Authentication Manager home screen, then tap menu, then Manage credentials.
  2. Select the business app you want to update, then tap Delete.
  3. On the confirmation dialogue, tap Delete once again to confirm.
  4. Sign out of Knox Authentication Manager, then sign back in and open the apps for which you deleted your credentials.
  5. Confirm that Knox Authentication Manager doesn’t autofill your sign-in credentials when you launch the business app.
