Template

A standardized configuration package that applies uniform settings across multiple devices or users. This reusable framework ensures consistent policy enforcement and simplifies bulk deployments.

Tenant

An isolated Knox Guard instance within a Knox company account that provides a dedicated workspace for device and policy management. Each tenant operates as a separate environment with its own data, device inventory, and configurations, typically organized by domain or a specific business use case.

In Knox Manage, the tenant is functionally equivalent to the Knox company account, as only one tenant can be created per Knox company account.

Tenant ID

A unique organizational identifier that represents your Knox Manage environment. Composed of your enterprise domain (and optional prefix for multi-tenant setups), this ID distinguishes your managed environment.

Trial license

A time-limited Knox subscription that enables IT admins to evaluate services with up to 30 devices for three months. Tested devices and their data persist post-trial, requiring a commercial license for continued service access.

Additionally, a Knox Guard trial license supports a service period that is calculated per individual device and lasts for three years after a device is enrolled.

U


Unassign

A device management action that removes profiles, campaigns, or licenses from individual devices. This process may revoke previously applied configurations or access rights while maintaining device enrollment.

Unenroll

A device management action that removes a device from Knox service as well as any EMM or UEM oversight. This process reverts the device to an unmanaged state, terminating all administrative control and monitoring.

User group

A Knox Manage organizational unit that consolidates user accounts for targeted app, content, and profile assignments. Admins can use them to efficiently manage configurations across multiple devices simultaneously.
