Overview
Two-step verification, also known as two-factor authentication, adds an extra layer of protection to your Samsung account by requiring both your password and a verification code when signing in. This helps protect your account even if your password is compromised.
For Galaxy devices, Samsung offers additional two-step verification methods.
How do you enable notifications for two-step verification?
Samsung offers a convenient verification method for Galaxy devices— you can directly receive verification codes as notifications on your device, rather than text messages. This allows you to use two-step verification on other devices, such as phones and tablets.
To enable Galaxy device notifications directly from your device:
- On your device, navigate to Settings.
- Tap Accounts and backup > Manage account > Samsung account.
- Select your profile. Then, tap Security and Privacy > Two-step verification.
- Login to your Samsung account.
- Tap Galaxy device notification and select the Galaxy devices you want to receive verification codes on.
The Galaxy device notification function is exclusive to devices logged in with the same Samsung account.
What if I don’t recieve the verification code?
If you didn’t receive the verification code on your Galaxy device:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Login with your Samsung account.
- Tap Didn’t get the verification code? > Verify with Galaxy device.
