Purchase a commercial license

To use Samsung Care+ for Business, you’ll need to purchase a commercial license. You can either contact the Samsung Knox sales team, or directly purchase a license from a reseller.

Enter a license key

If the reseller provided your Knox Customer ID when purchasing licenses for you, the license is automatically registered to your account.

To manually add a license key to your account:

  1. On the Knox Admin Portal, go to Licenses.

  2. Click ACTIONS > Enter license key.

Selecting Enter license key option from the Actions drop-down menu.

  3. Enter the License key and a License name. Click ADD.

Enter license name and key window.

Assign license

You can manually assign a license, or use a CSV file to assign licenses in bulk.

To assign a license to a device, you must approve the devices. For more information on how to purchase devices, see Manage resellers. For information on how to approve devices, see Manage devices.

To assign a license:

License Policies

For devices in France, the coverage Start date is the start date entered in the purchase order (SLM). The start date indicates the planned license delivery date to the enterprise customer.

ADH, SP, and Combo (EW + ADH)

  • License assignment can be staggered, that is you can assign licenses as you receive and activate devices. However, the license must be assigned by the license Assignment end date. For more information, see View license details.
  • Devices must eligible for license assignment:
    • Licenses must be assigned during the Device eligible period. This is typically within 30 days of accepting the device’s End User License Agreement (EULA). If more than 30 days have passed since accepting EULA, the device may not be eligible for SCB coverage.
    • EULA must be accepted before the end of the license assignment period.
  • The device coverage Start date is the date the license is assigned. However, for some countries, coverage can begin on either the license assignment date or EULA acceptance date, depending on which is more recent. Please contact sales for the detailed policy.

EW (Extended Warranty)

  • License assignment can staggered, that is you can assign licenses as you receive and activate devices.
    • The Basic Warranty Period begins the day EULA is accepted.
  • The device coverage Start date begins one day after the Basic Warranty Period. Inclusion of this one day is dependent on your country. Please contact sales for the detailed policy.

License seat type

There are four groups of license seats:

  • Total — Total number of seats purchased.
  • Assigned — Number of seats assigned to devices, including Active and Active Pending.
  • Active — Number of active license seats.
  • Remaining — Number of unassigned seats remaining (TotalAssigned).

Note PC devices

Note PC devices can be activated in a non-staggered manner; the coverage of all devices starts and ends at the same time irrespective of when the user assigns the license to the devices. For Note PCs, the device ID used for license assignment is the device’s serial number.

The coverage start date is determined based on the license Start date:

  • Accidental Damage from Handling — License Start date + 1 day
  • Extended Warranty — License Start date + Basic Warranty Period + 1 day

For Note PC devices, delivery date is used in place of EULA acceptance date.
