How do I enable users to select a 3rd party keyboard?

Enterprise data can be leaked to the personal container via an unauthorized 3rd party keyboard, as keyboards are shared between the personal and work spaces. To avoid this, Samsung Knox requires users to use the system keyboard by default. 3rd party keyboards can only be used if they are first added to an allowlist by an IT admin.

You can use the setPermittedInputMethods() method from the Android DevicePolicyManager interface to allow 3rd party keyboards.

In an upcoming update, users will be able to select any keyboard by default. It will be up to IT admins to set restrictions on 3rd party keyboard use through their EMM.
