SOTI MobiControl: Configure Managed Google Play

In Configure Android Enterprise, we completed the majority of the work needed to configure apps to be used for Managed Google Play. All we have left to do is the following:

  1. Go to https://play.google.com/work and log in with the Gmail account you bound to IBM MaaS360 in the Configuring Android Enterprise Section.
  2. Search for the App you want to distribute. For example: Samsung Email
  3. Click the APPROVE button.
  4. APPROVE the App Permission request
  5. Choose how you would like to handle new app permission requests and then click SAVE
  6. You will now see your app lists in your My managed apps page

Use the Application Catalog Rule to add in the Samsung Email client.

You must navigate to the target app via Android+ -> Application Catalog-> Right click Application Catalog and click on “Create Application Catalog Rule”

  1. Right click on “Add Devices” then “Create Add Devices Rule” & give it a suitable name.

  2. Click on Add then select “Managed Google Play Applications”.

  3. First click on ‘Sync Apps” this will sync your approved apps with MobiControl. Then Search for the app and click search. From here select the app and click on OK.

  4. Your app is now added into MobiControl and can be shared by completing the wizard

  5. Now that the app has been added click on Next

  6. Select the target device group to distribute the application

  7. The wizard will give you a final overview of the Rule. Click on Finish.
