Personal apps cannot be installed from Google Play in Android 11

Environment

  • Android Enterprise (AE) - Work Profile on Company-owned Devices (WPC)
  • Android 11 OS version

Overview

On Samsung Android 11 devices provisioned with a work profile on company-owned devices (WPC), users may not be able to download apps from Google Play outside of the work profile. After opening the Google Play app, a blank white screen appears.

Resolution

The issue is resolved in Google Play app versions v23.x and higher. Please use either of the following methods to resolve the issue:

Resolution 1: Wait for the Google Play app on the personal side of the device to update.

Resolution 2:

  1. Open Google Play on the personal side of the device and go to Menu > Settings.
  2. Select Play Store Version.
  3. Wait a few minutes for the app to update, and repeat until the version is v23.x or higher.
