Device users
Device users overview
The Device Users screen displays users available for device assignments. New users can be added, passwords can be edited or removed and user IDs/passwords can be imported using a CSV file.
To review existing device users:
- Select the Device Users from the left-hand navigation menu.
- Refer to the following to assess the relevance of each listed user:
- USER ID — Lists each existing user as link that can be selected to change the password of the selected user ID. The ID and password should both be the credentials of the customer's MDM.
- PASSWORD — Lists each user's password.
Add a device user
To add a new device user to the list of existing users:
- Select the Device Users from the left-hand navigation menu.
- Select the ADD DEVICE USERS button from the top, right-hand, side of the screen.
- Provide a User ID and Password to create unique KME device user credentials. The ID and password should both be the credentials of the customer's MDM.
- Select ADD to save the new user.
Edit a device user
To edit and update the password of an existing user (only the user's password can be modified, not their username):
- From the Device Users screen, select the checkbox of the device user whose password requires an update. Only one device user can be selected at a time.
- Update the Password of the selected user as required. An IT admin can optionally select the Manage passwords link to verify an end user's password if they experience a login password conflict. The password should be the password credential of the customer's MDM.
- Select SAVE to commit the updated password with the selected device user.
Remove a device user
Existing device users can be removed as they become obsolete. To delete and remove a device user:
- From the Device Users screen, select the checkbox of the device user(s) who require removal. More than one device user can be removed at one time.
- Select Delete device users from the ACTIONS drop-down menu on the top, right-hand, side of the screen.
- Select the DELETE button to proceed with the device user deletion. Once removed, the user no longer displays in the device users list.
Import a device user
Optionally, import device users in bulk with a CSV file. You can configure in bulk up to 10,000 user credentials within a device list.
- Go to Devices > BULK ACTIONS and click UPLOAD USER CREDENTIALS.
- Attach a CSV file containing the IDs of the users you intend to import. Click SUBMIT to import the users into KME.
- If you're unsure how to format the CSV file, return to the BULK ACTIONS page and click View instructions under the UPLOAD USER CREDENTIALS section.
