MSP glossary

The following terms and conventions are used somewhat uniquely for an MSP account and the portal:

Customer ID - Externally identifiable and unique ID for a direct or managed customer

Customer Portal Console - Location where a direct or managed customer can view account and device details

Direct Customer - A customer not actively managed by an MSP who can access the customer portal

Direct Customer IT Admin - A customer employee or contact resource who can login in to the customer portal

Managed Customer - A company whose account and devices are actively managed by an MSP

Managed Customer IT Admin - A managed customer employee or contact who can login in to the customer portal

Managed Service Provider (MSP) - A company that manages devices on behalf of another company

MSP Admin - An MSP employee or contact who can login in to MSP

MSP ID - Externally identifiable and unique ID for an MSP

MSP Portal - The portal resource where an MSP does account and device operations on behalf of their customers

MSP Portal Customer View - The location within MSP used to view specific customer device, license, and profile details

MSP Program - The overall MSP experience that includes the portal, training, and documentation for MSPs

Reseller - Tenants that upload devices for customers

Reseller ID - Externally identifiable and unique ID for a Reseller

Reseller IT Admin - Reseller employee or contact with the ability to login to the Reseller Portal
