Manage VPP users

You can add iOS device users who are enrolled in the KM Admin Portal as VPP users. IT admins can use the User menu to add VPP users and send them an invitation message. Users accept this invitation message to become full VPP users. For users who are registered but did not accept the invitation on their devices, you can resend the invitation message. When VPP users are removed or their statuses are changed on the Admin Portal, you can synchronize the user information with the VPP website.

TIP—The procedures in this section are not needed if you plan to do device-based app assignment instead of user-based app assignment.
 
You can access VPP options from the User page as follows:
  1. On the KM admin portal, navigate to User > list of users.
  2. On this screen, select all iOS device users. When you've selected eligible iOS device users, the following options are activated: 
    1. Send VPP invitation
    2. Delete from VPP
    3. Sync VPP

Adding VPP users

You can use the User menu to add the users of activated iOS devices as VPP users. Once users accept their invitation, they are registered on the VPP website as well as the KM Admin Portal. You can also use this same process to reinvite VPP users who have not accepted their invites.

To add VPP users, complete the following steps:

  1. On the KM admin portal, navigate to User > list of users.
  2. On this screen, select all eligible iOS device users.
  3. Click Send VPP invitation. The invitation message is sent to the users through notifications or email.

Removing VPP users

Remove registered VPP users and revoke their license codes.

To remove VPP users, complete the following steps:

  1. On the KM admin portal, navigate to User > list of users.
  2. On this screen, select all eligible iOS device users.
  3. Click Delete from VPP.
  4. When prompted, click OK. The selected users are removed from the list of VPP users.

Synchronizing VPP user information

If you modified VPP user information on the Admin Portal, synchronize the information on the VPP website with the information on the Admin Portal.

There are two synchronization methods:

  • Automatic synchronization via scheduling in Setting > iOS > VPP Server Setting
  • Manual synchronization

To synchronize the user information manually, complete the following steps:

  1. On the KM admin portal, navigate to User > list of users.
  2. On this screen, select all eligible iOS device users.
  3. Click Sync VPP, and when prompted click OK. The VPP user data is syncted with the VPP website.
