About Knox E-FOTA

Knox Enterprise-Firmware Over The Air (E-FOTA) is a web service that lets you manage the Android firmware versions on Samsung devices. It allows you to do the following:

• Verify that business-critical software is compatible with a specific firmware version before rolling out the firmware to employees. This can prevent conflicts between corporate software and firmware that can break business processes and reduce productivity.
• Quickly roll out to all enterprise devices a firmware version that fixes a critical security issue or bug. This can prevent the propagation of known security exploits.

Knox Manage supports the following Knox E-FOTA editions:

• Knox E-FOTA—A Knox E-FOTA service that provides an admin console. This service is available to you if you have registered a Knox Suite license on the Knox Manage admin portal. For more information, see About Knox E-FOTA.
• Knox E-FOTA on MDM: This service is available to you if you have registered an E-FOTA license on the Knox Manage admin portal. Once you have done that, the E-FOTA groups organized by device model and carrier are created automatically. You can assign devices that need to be updated to an E-FOTA group and update them with the desired firmware version. For more information, see About Knox E-FOTA on MDM.
