About Knox Configure Accessories

Last updated July 26th, 2023

Knox Configure Accessories are NFC accessories for devices that are enabled by Knox Configure profiles. This feature allows for easy Knox Configure enrollment and profile configuration through accessory pairing. With Knox Configure Accessories, accessory manufacturers and Samsung partners can easily implement accessories to instantly configure devices. Knox Configure Accessories send a code to devices that are associated with a configured profile that can enroll the device independent of the device’s upload status on the Reseller Portal. Examples of accessories include phone cases and NFC cards. This feature is available for devices running Android 10 and higher.

You can set up accessory enrollment when you create a profile or it can be added to an existing profile.

KC Accessories workflow

To set up accessory enrollment:

  1. Create a new profile or edit an existing profile.

  2. On the Enrollment info page, scroll down to DEVICE ENROLLMENT and click ADD ACCESSORY.

  3. You’re prompted to generate a UID for the device. The device UID is a unique identifier that defines the product policy for each accessory. In the Generate UID dialog, fill the following fields:

    • Accessory type — Select an accessory type. The available types are Cover and NFC card / Buds case.
    • Total serial number quantity — Enter the maximum number of accessories that can be associated with a profile, up to 500,000.
    • Total permitted quantity of devices with serial numbers — Enter the maximum number of devices that a single profile can be deployed to, up to 10.

    KC generate UID screen.

Click CONFIRM to go back to the Enrollment info page.

  4. The accessory UID files attached to the profile are visible under Accessory for enrollment. You can view the total serial number quantity and the total permitted quantity of devices with serial numbers for each accessory UID file.

    Popup to enter license key.

  6. If you want to allow device users to clear accessory profiles, select Allow to delete device configuration options. Only one accessory profile can be applied to the accessory at a time.

The profile parameters are available on the downloaded CSV spreadsheet. If you’re not a manufacturer, you’ll need to send the file to a manufacturer who is a Samsung Accessory official partner. The manufacturer is responsible for importing the file into the accessories.
