Apps with highest RAM usage

Last updated October 16th, 2024

The Apps with highest RAM usage insight lets you see which apps in your fleet have the highest RAM consumption. You can use this information to determine if certain apps are problematic, and make adjustments to optimize your fleet’s device performance and productivity.

Main tile view

This insight’s main tile view displays the top five apps with the highest RAM usage over a selected reporting period. On the tile’s chart, you’ll see the RAM usage percentage as well as the device count for each of the top five apps.

Excluded apps

In the tile’s notification section, you’ll see the number of apps that were excluded from the insight’s calculations. The number of apps excluded from the tile depends on the RAM usage device reporting threshold value set in the Dashboard Settings > Thresholds tab.

app highest ram threshold

For example, if the notification section displays Excluding 2 apps, this means that the insight reported high RAM usage data for 2 apps, but these apps did not meet the device reporting threshold. In other words, some devices reported that these apps had high RAM usage, but the device count was not high enough for these apps to be considered as problematic.

If the threshold was set to exclude apps for 6 devices or less, then this insight would ignore any apps that reported high RAM usage on 6 (or fewer) devices. Conversely, if 7 or more devices reported high RAM usage with any app, then the app would be included in the calculations.

Expanded view

The expanded view page of Apps with highest RAM usage displays every app that reported high RAM usage over a selected reporting period, excluding any apps that didn’t meet the device reporting threshold.

app highest ram table

In the summary row, you can see the total number of apps that reported high RAM usage. This number corresponds with the data shown in the table, where you’ll see each reported app, along with information such as the package name, average RAM usage, and device count, to help you analyze and troubleshoot issues further.

Click any table column header to sort the data by ascending or descending order. Click the CUSTOMIZE TABLE () button to remove or add (up to six) columns to the table.
