Before you begin

This section describes how to get started with Knox E-FOTA One.

NOTE—If you are already using Knox E-FOTA Advanced to manage your firmware's devices, and you want to start using Knox E-FOTA One, follow the tutorial Migrate devices from Knox E-FOTA Advanced to Knox E-FOTA One.


  1. Create a Samsung account—In order to use Knox E-FOTA One and other Samsung Knox solutions, you need access to, which requires a Samsung account. If you don't have a Samsung account, you are prompted to create one.
  2. Apply for access to Knox E-FOTA One—Once you have access to, you can apply for access to Knox E-FOTA One.
  3. Obtain test devices—You'll need test devices to test Knox E-FOTA One.
    NOTE—Knox E-FOTA One works with Knox-supported devices with Android N and later. Out-of-box experience (OOBE) installation works with devices with Android P and later.
  4. You can log into E-FOTA using either a Samsung account or a corporate account set up through MS Azure Active Directory. See signing in using AD SSO.

You can manage Knox licenses through your account. Your account provides access to various Knox solutions and tools through the dashboard. Your account also allows you to create support tickets if you are having issues with a product.

A account is free and you can create one in just a few minutes.

Create a Samsung account

This section describes how to create a Samsung account.

  1. Go to
  2. Click Enroll on the upper right-hand side of the screen.

  3. Enter your business email address.
    NOTE—Personal email accounts, such as Gmail and Hotmail accounts, are not accepted.

    If your email address is already associated with a Samsung account, you're prompted to sign in to your Samsung account. Otherwise, you're prompted to create one.

  4. Create a Samsung account.

    NOTE—Follow these steps if you are prompted to create a Samsung account. If you already have a Samsung account, sign in and skip these steps.

    1. Click Agree.

    2. Complete the required fields, then click Next.

      NOTE—The fields in this screen may differ slightly depending on the country where you're accessing

      A message appears confirming that a verification email has been sent to the email address you entered.

    3. In your email inbox, open the confirmation email for the Samsung account and click the verification link.
    4. Click Start.
    5. Enter your company information and click Submit.

  5. Read and acknowledge the Samsung Knox agreements, and click Submit.

    Your dashboard appears.

Apply for access to Knox E-FOTA One

NOTE—If your account is already activated for Knox Configure or Knox Mobile Enrollment, you're pre-approved for access to Knox E-FOTA One. You can open the Knox E-FOTA One portal by going to your dashboard and clicking Launch on the Knox E-FOTA One card.

NOTE—If your organization has a combination of US and EU (or Asia) devices and you want to enroll them all to Knox E-FOTA, you need two separate Samsung accounts—one US account and one EU (or Asia) account. Each one needs to submit an application for access to Knox E-FOTA One. For more information, see Share a license to another tenant.
  1. Sign in to your dashboard if you're not already signed in.
  2. On the Knox E-FOTA One card, click Try for Free.
  3. Read and acknowledge the Knox E-FOTA One agreements, and click Submit application.

    A confirmation page appears. Activation of your Knox E-FOTA One account can take several days. 

    When your account is approved, you can open the Knox E-FOTA One portal by going to your dashboard and clicking Launch on the Knox E-FOTA One card.

Log in to the Knox E-FOTA One portal

  1. Go to and click Sign in.
  2. Enter your Samsung account email and password.

    Your dashboard appears.

  3. On the Knox E-FOTA One card, click Launch.

    The Knox E-FOTA One portal opens.
