Knox E-FOTA Advanced feature update — June 2, 2019
For a full list of all features, visit the product page for Knox E-FOTA.
Knox E-FOTA Advanced portal updates
Version: SWM-v11.2.0.35-HF1.2-Samsung1.20
Allow FOTA updates when roaming
With this release, IT admins now have the option to enable firmware over the air (FOTA) updates while roaming. This feature is located under the tab Campaign Management > Campaigns.
After enabling FOTA update while roaming, select one of the following network options: Mobile network (LTE), Wi-Fi, or either network. Note that by default, the network for FOTA updates while roaming is set to Wi-Fi.
Allow FOTA updates when charging
In this release, IT admins have the option to enable Allow FOTA updates when charging. When enabled, the binary update file downloads from the Knox E-FOTA server, but prior to installation the user must first connect the device to a charger.
IP allowlist for each domain
To enhance security, this release includes the option to create an IP allowlist for each domain. This restricts admin access to a specified domain. When an IT admin logs into the Knox Enterprise portal, the server verifies that the IP address associated to the login credential is allowed in the specified domain before allowing access to the portal.
To enable IP filtering, to the Admin > Domain Settings tab to enter an allowlist entry. To learn more, select the in-portal HELP link to read how to create an IP allowlist.
Licensing enhancements
This release includes enhancements to improve user access to trial licenses through samsungknox.com.
Note that Knox Enterprise Advanced uses license-based control, which means Software license management (SLM) issues trial and commercial licenses. As part of license registration, customers create a domain through samsungknox.com. This links the domain type to the license type, for example, a trial license will create a trial domain.
For commercial licenses, contact your local reseller. For additional licensing support, contact Samsung at cred.efota@samsung.com after obtaining commercial licenses.
To view license info, go to Admin > General settings.
