Before you begin

This section describes the requirements to get started with Knox E-FOTA Advanced.

Requirements

1. Samsung account—In order to use Samsung Knox solutions, you need a Samsung account. If you don't have a Samsung account, you will be prompted to create one.
2. An active Knox E-FOTA Advanced license—There are two ways to obtain an active Knox E-FOTA Advanced license:
   • Apply for a free 90-day trial of Knox E-FOTA Advanced.
   • Purchase a Knox E-FOTA Advanced license from your local reseller.
   NOTE—The trial period for Knox E-FOTA Advanced is 90 days from the date of issue, for up to 100 devices.
3. Test device—Once you have an active Knox E-FOTA Advanced license, you can start registering test devices and installing the E-FOTA Advanced client app on each device.
   NOTE—Knox E-FOTA Advanced works on Samsung mobile devices running Android OS version 5.0 or later.

SamsungKnox.com

Knox licenses are managed from your SamsungKnox.com account. Your account provides access to various Knox tools through the SamsungKnox.com dashboard. This dashboard includes the Knox license key validator, the Knox Bluetooth & USB Smart Card client, the Android VPN Mgmt for Knox, and more. Your SamsungKnox.com account also allows you to manage your license keys and create support tickets if you are having issues with a product.

A SamsungKnox.com account is free and can be created in just a few minutes.

Create a SamsungKnox.com account

1. Go to www.samsungknox.com.
2. Click Enroll on the upper right-hand side of the screen.

   

3. Enter your business email address.
   NOTE—Personal email accounts, such as Gmail and Hotmail accounts, are not accepted.

   

   If your email address is already associated with a Samsung account, you're prompted to sign in to your Samsung account. Otherwise, you're prompted to create one.

4. Create a Samsung account.

   NOTE—Follow these steps if you are prompted to create a Samsung account. If you already have a Samsung account, sign in and skip these steps.

   1. Click Agree.

      

   2. Complete the required fields, then click Next.
      NOTE—The fields in this screen may differ slightly depending on the country where you're accessing SamsungKnox.com.

      

      A message appears confirming that a verification email has been sent to the email address you entered.

   3. In your email inbox, open the confirmation email for the Samsung account and click the verification link.
   4. Click Start.
   5. Enter your company information and click Submit.

      

5. Read and acknowledge the Samsung Knox agreements, and click Submit.

   Your SamsungKnox.com dashboard appears. You are now enrolled.
